About Nordic Saunas

Born From a Love of the Water.

Simon’s connection to the water began in the pool at six months old. Competitive swimming followed, then sea swimming from the age of 12 and weekends around Dalkey and Sandycove with his dad, an avid snorkeller and scuba diver.

Later, triathlon and sauna became part of the same routine. After years of using pay-as-you-go saunas along Dublin’s east coast, Simon wanted the freedom to use one at home whenever he wanted.

That freedom changed his relationship with sauna and inspired Nordic Saunas: bringing together a lifelong connection to water with the simple ritual of heat, cold and time outdoors.

Today, Simon and Jason supply and fit Nordic pine garden saunas, taking customers from the first conversation through to the finished installation.

Meet the team

The People Behind Nordic Saunas.

Simon and Jason have worked on many building projects together and share a love of sport and fitness. Their achievements include the Dublin Liffey Swim, Dublin City Marathon and IRONMAN 70.3 events in Dublin, Cork, the UK and Nice.

Simon founded Nordic Saunas and personally oversees the business, from working with suppliers to installations across Dublin.

Jason

Jason works alongside Simon as part of the Nordic Saunas team, helping customers from delivery through to their finished sauna.

If we were going to bring premium Nordic saunas to Ireland, we wanted to understand exactly how they are built and who builds them.

Across two trips, we travelled to Estonia and Finland to meet manufacturers, see the materials at their source and follow the process from individual components through to a finished sauna.

Our time in Finland was not only spent in factories. We also experienced the culture that makes sauna such an important part of life, from Löyly in Helsinki to the traditional combination of heat and an ice-cold plunge.
