Simon’s experience of regular sauna

What Regular Sauna Does for Me.

“I use my sauna around five days a week, and the biggest benefit for me has been the difference it makes to my mood. After a sauna, I feel noticeably calmer, clearer and in a much better mood.

Like many families, our life is busy. I’m married with two children involved in running and football, so we spend six days most weeks travelling to training, matches and activities. The sauna gives me time away from phones, noise and the constant busyness of everyday life.

I find that the benefit is strongest when sauna is a regular part of my week. It has become an important way for me to switch off, reset and feel more relaxed.”

A simple space to feel better.

Time to switch off

A quiet space away from phones. Most of us need a digital detox, and sauna is the perfect way to take one—with no phones allowed.

After exercise and sport

Whatever your sport, there’s nothing like stepping into a hot sauna to make you feel more relaxed and help you recover.

Relax and lift your mood

Invite a friend over to catch up, or simply take time for yourself to unwind, relax and help lift your mood.

What the experts say

The long-term Finnish study

2,315 Men. More Than 20 Years.

A widely cited Finnish study followed 2,315 men aged 42–60 for a median of 20.7 years. More frequent sauna use was associated with lower rates of sudden cardiac death, fatal cardiovascular disease and death from all causes.

63%lower relative risk of sudden cardiac death

50%lower relative risk of fatal cardiovascular disease

40%lower relative risk of death from all causes

These figures compare men who reported 4–7 sauna sessions a week with those reporting one session a week, after statistical adjustment. This was an observational study, so it shows an association rather than proving sauna caused the lower risk. Its participants were middle-aged men in eastern Finland.
